How do you the owners feel about this issue? Does one registry (a unification of all the registries) appeal to you and why. Or does more than one registry with different standards, rules, registration requirements, etc. appeal to you and why?
Please do not hesitate to be specific with your opinions. Open discussion is encouraged.

Speaking strictly for the CKMR, I would not want to be a part of any amalgamation that included inspections, non breeding catagories, color catagories or a hardship clause of anykind that would pemit found or partial blood found crosses in any way.
I am happy to maintain my independant status and proud to be the Canadian registry for the Kiger breed. I feel that the comprimises that would have to take place would not only comprimise my ethical and moral objectives for this breed but would place me in a position of no return. For example, what would happen if an amalgamation occurred and enough people were unhappy with the operaton of the registry? There would be NOTHING stopping them from opening yet another Kiger registry.
I agree that we need to establish a continuity of sorts when it comes to this breed, but I also feel that each one of the registries must maintain a certain amount of independance. A prime example of this is the Arabian registries. There is the AHA Arabian Horse Association in the US, CAHR Canadian Arabian Horse Associaton, IAHA International Arabian Horse Association as well as provincial subsiduaries and 15 different zones across North America. While maintaining their independance, they still work together to achieve a common goal.
I don't forsee that happening with the Kiger registries as there are far too many personal issues between each one. The bickering and fighting has only proven to drive trust and communication well beyond the grasp of a realistic solution.
Taking into consideration the animousity that has festered over many years and grown into an impenitrable wall, I feel that it would be impossible to establish the trust and lines of communication necessary for this to ever happen. So, to answer your question, no, I do not want an amalgamation. Unfortunately, I feel that no single registry will fill the needs of this breed.
